The why behind she embodies
Hello and welcome!
If we were in person I would make you a coffee or tea and want to get to know all about you. For now, although it may be one sided, I want to share some things with you.
Firstly, my hope for this space on the internet is to 1) be a place to provoke thought on what it means to be you in this wild life 2) share in a sense of belonging and community as we do this life together 3) inspire authentic action coming from a place of self compassion, rather than fear. This space is also part of my creative process, a place for me to share my own authentic voice. I’m so looking forward to connecting and hearing from you.
An Intro to me
During the week I work as an Eating Disorder Dietitian in both a community mental health setting and my own (very small) private practice. I love what I do even if it is quite a challenge. Being a Dietitian has always interested me. I mean a job around people and food? You got me! But I think over the years working with women, I’ve wanted to go beyond the food.
The interesting thing about sitting opposite women for an hour at a time, is, you hear their stories, their fears, their hopes. You get glimpses into what makes their soul sing as well as what crushes them deeply. You see vulnerability, courage and hope. It is both heart breaking to see these beautiful women think so little of themselves, and awe inspiring when you see them grasp what is actually true about them. So, out of this and my own story of self doubt and uncertainty, ‘she embodies’ was born. I have always felt a bit too much and never enough, always sought meaning in the high and low places, and desperate for connection and belonging. She embodies became a bit of a mantra, to live out of being a valued, loved, cherished woman. I am interested in what has shaped our beliefs about ourselves and the world, and how we live as embodied beings. Not just with our minds and intellect but how we actually live out our lives. In a million little moments.
“She Embodies” is both a reflection of my faith and a framework for living with authenticity, grace, and purpose. It’s about stepping into who God created me to be while honoring the unique gifts, rhythms, and calling He has placed on my life. It’s about encouraging others to embrace their gifts and step into their God-given purpose. And building connections that uplift and remind us we are not alone in our struggles or joys.
I’m looking forward to sharing all of this with you!
